Designing, editing, and content reading tabletop games

Hi! I'm Lauren McManamon (she/they), a pan queer tabletop rpg game designer and editor. I'm available for:

Stylistic editing—I'm a Plain Language expert who can improve the overall flow and clarity of your text

Sensitivity/content reading—For gender, sexual violence, and consent. I majored in social discourse, gender in the media, and prosecuting sexual violence during postgrad

Writing coaching—I can train and coach you to improve your writing skills using the principles of Plain Language

Proofing—Whether US, UK, or somewhere in between, I'm proficient in all the weird English grammar and spelling rules

"As a TTRPG editor, Lauren goes above and beyond. Not only does she help us improve the readability and coherence of the text of Good Society, but even spotted potential clarity issues that could arise in play." - The Storybrewers (Alas for the Awful Sea, Good Society: A Jane Austen RPG)

"Lauren is a consummate professional and her work on The Great American Novel RPG eloquently revealed standard grammatical errors, but more importantly fixed some tricky game mechanism issues and helped tremendously in making sure potentially problematic content was handled with care. She is a sophisticated thinker and a passionately embraces her work. With any luck she will be available for all my future projects!" - Christopher Grey (The Great American Novel)

"Lauren was more than just an editor for us, she provided key insight on overall structure of both our writing and our game mechanics. She will turn your work from good to great." - David Kizzia of Monkeyfun Studios (Sprit of 77, Bedlam Hall, and a Town Called Malice)
